#MMTTV Q&A Peripheralization, Yellow Light, and a Clinical Pearl

The Stop Light Rule is one of the best uses of patient response to any treatment. It tells you whether or not to go ahead, proceed with caution, or stop and try something different.
red light -
Sx peripheralize or increase during a repeated motion or position, and remain worse upon cessation of the motions/position for more than 3-5 minutes after
STOP
yellow light -
Sx peripheralize or increase during a repeated motion or position, but after cessation of the motions/position, Sx return to baseline
Proceed with caution
green light
Sx centralize or decrease during repeated motion/position, and after cessation of motions/position, Sx remain better
That's a quick summary and you should use the stoplight rule not only for repeated motions or positions of relief, but all treatments.

The peripheralization that does not remain is the question in today's Q&A. To learn more about Clinical Practice Patterns and how they can cut down on your evaluation and increase your treatment and patient education time, check out
