This is a progression from my standard subcranial shear distraction technique. It's a variation on Paris' unilateral OA nod. I try to warm up the area or do some light tissue work to reduce tone and tenderness prior to the technique. Block the same side posterior arch of the atlas as the patient actively or you passively nod them in the direction of the stabilizing fingers. A few reps of this should improve unilateral OA mobility. After this, they can keep self mobilizing for home by sitting upright, lightly rotating to the same side then nodding 10 reps/hour.
