As we come into the New Year, I want to share a reflection exercise I learned from my coach, Taki Moore. For me 2023, was a whirlwind, with a lot of change and adjustments, both in my business and personal life. There are four questions, and I’ll share my answers with you. But what I would love is to hear what yours are.
Here are the Four Reflection Questions:
-Pride and Gratitude- Write down the top three things from the last 12 months you are grateful for.
-Growth - What are the biggest challenges you’ve grown through and what are the lessons you learned?
-What unfinished business do you have?
-What are you top three aspirations for the new year?
[00:00:05] Welcome to The Aaron LeBauer Show. This is the number one show for passionate
[00:00:09] physical therapy and healthcare entrepreneurs looking to level up their
[00:00:13] income and impact on the world. If that's you, then you're in the right place. So
[00:00:18] sit back, chill out, and let's get into the show. Hey what's up? Welcome back to
[00:00:27] the show. My name is Dr. Aaron LeBauer. I've got red hair and a red beard and if
[00:00:32] you're listening this on iTunes, dope! Sometime check us out on YouTube and if
[00:00:36] you're watching on YouTube, we're over on iTunes. But happy holidays, happy new
[00:00:42] year, happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, etc. Let's see, it is, I'm recording this
[00:00:49] December 26th. Yeah, I just did a call earlier with a few of our Platinum
[00:00:56] Mastermind and Project Yellowstone members, which we've got a
[00:01:00] Platinum Mastermind group and I've got a group for people that are doing more than
[00:01:03] 20k, have big vision and future for their life and their career in
[00:01:08] our profession. And we meet an extra time a month to go over strategy and not just
[00:01:14] ask questions. And also we do some deeper like, I don't know, reflection and
[00:01:20] coaching sometimes. And today I did a really cool session with our members and
[00:01:24] I learned these questions from my coach Taki Moore. So shout out to Taki. The way
[00:01:30] Taki calls it the R5, I don't even know what the five is, but it's the, it's a
[00:01:36] reflection exercise. And as we were doing it, I was reflecting on my year and
[00:01:42] sharing it with our members. I was like, I need to share this on the podcast. This
[00:01:46] is really cool stuff. So if you have a second, you can pause this and go grab a
[00:01:51] pen and paper or pull up another app like Google Keep or your Notes app or your
[00:01:58] Apple like Notes or something like that. Word doc and write this down because I
[00:02:03] hope this is gonna be helpful for you going into next year. And you may be
[00:02:07] listening to this in early 2024, it doesn't really matter. I'm gonna send
[00:02:11] this out to Laura and she'll get out soon. But this is it. So 2023 has been a
[00:02:18] pretty big year for a lot of people, a pretty crazy year for some. It's been a
[00:02:23] little bit of both for me. And I've been reflecting on the year, on like what
[00:02:29] went well and what didn't, what I need to do next year. And I always do that
[00:02:33] between Christmas and New Year's, sit down and spend some time doing this. And
[00:02:36] I wanted to give you that a little bit of opportunity to kind of reflect on
[00:02:40] your last year and where you want to go next year. So there's four questions and
[00:02:44] I'm gonna share the questions and then I'm gonna share kind of my things. And
[00:02:48] what'd be really dope is as you write yours down, if you want to share them
[00:02:53] with me somehow, like if you're in our free group the Cash PT Nation, you want
[00:02:56] to post it in there. Or if you're not, you can request to join. It's on Facebook.
[00:02:59] Just type in Cash PT Nation. You'll find us. You could share it in there. You can
[00:03:04] share it with me on Instagram. Like you could put it on a story and tag me or
[00:03:08] send it in a message to me. That'd be really dope. So let's start with a number
[00:03:12] one, the first question. This is about pride and gratitude. What are your
[00:03:17] top three best things this year? So if you think back to 2023, maybe you're
[00:03:24] listening to this in the future and it's like May 2025. I don't care. Think about
[00:03:28] the last 12 months. What are the top three best things from the last 12
[00:03:32] months? I want you to write them down and I'm gonna tell you mine. And as I'm
[00:03:36] telling you mine, maybe it'll trigger something for you. But think about like
[00:03:40] the top three best things. These aren't just necessarily wins in your business.
[00:03:43] These are the three best things that happened to you. Business, personal, family.
[00:03:47] Maybe fitness, etc. So my top three, number one, I mean it was PT BizCon. I got
[00:03:55] to run finally run an in-person live event. PT BizCon. It the fourth year I
[00:04:01] finally did it live. If you've been listening long enough, you know in 2020
[00:04:06] we had a live event in Charlotte. Had 135 people coming and a week before the
[00:04:10] event I had to move it all online. Moved it all online, added another 35 people
[00:04:15] and pulled off what most people thought was impossible. It was an online two-day
[00:04:21] event. It was really great but it was online and the next year 2021 I think
[00:04:28] straight up with COVID I was like we're gonna do it online. And improved it
[00:04:32] because of the things I learned in 2022. We didn't know what was gonna happen.
[00:04:38] We planned both in person and online because in the fall of 21 you know
[00:04:43] things could get better. But it wasn't ideal to get people in person again in
[00:04:48] 2022 so we did it online. And then for 2023 I was like we're doing this in
[00:04:55] person and we did it. And it was better than I thought possible.
[00:05:00] It was really fucking hard but PT BizCon finally pulled that off and that was like
[00:05:06] 10 months ago. Maybe not even 10 months ago at this time. That was like nine
[00:05:10] months ago and it feels like ages. So also other best thing that happened, top
[00:05:17] thing that happened to me this year is I got to spend 10 days in Hawaii. That was
[00:05:20] really amazing. Oh my god. Like Hawaii came at the right time for me. I was out
[00:05:25] there attending Taki Moore's boardroom and black belt event. So before
[00:05:32] COVID he would get together people in person three times a year in Sydney and
[00:05:38] three times a year in like Orange County California somewhere. And this was the
[00:05:45] first in-person event he did since COVID because his people are international and
[00:05:49] the year before they tried to do something in Hawaii but because of travel
[00:05:54] restrictions for a lot of people didn't do it. And it was amazing. But really what
[00:05:58] was amazing to me was I was able to go and work for five hours in the morning
[00:06:03] and then the afternoon fuck off. You know I got to go surfing every day. I got to
[00:06:08] meet with a couple clients. I got to surf with one of my clients with Kyle
[00:06:11] Womack. It was awesome. I got to surf the North Shore of Hawaii. I got the best
[00:06:15] poke and the best poke in Hawaii is in the grocery store on the North Shore of
[00:06:19] Hawaii. I got to meet with my coaching client Alex Langford and see where she
[00:06:24] works and her town in Kailua. I got to see a little secret beach and do some
[00:06:32] one-on-one coaching with her which is really special because living in Hawaii
[00:06:37] for full-time she hadn't been to our in-person events you know because of
[00:06:41] the distance and the travel and you know some other things. So that was really
[00:06:45] cool but what was really awesome to me was just like living that lifestyle of
[00:06:51] you know I can work in the morning and play in the evening. And I realized I
[00:06:55] just did that again this past weekend when I went up to the mountains and I
[00:07:01] worked in the morning and played in the evening. So this past so this is kind
[00:07:06] of tailing off and more of the lesson piece but I realized that you know it
[00:07:12] was really great. So let me get back to Hawaii. You know also while I was in
[00:07:16] Hawaii that was when I got the notice from my lawyer that my divorce was
[00:07:19] finalized and things just fell into place for me and just like a whole bunch
[00:07:24] of weight came off my shoulders. So this past weekend I went up to the mountains
[00:07:28] and I worked during the day and I did the night ski session at Appalachian
[00:07:31] Mountain which was a ton of fun and it's just like like I love that stuff.
[00:07:35] The third best thing that happened to me this year was I got the freedom to
[00:07:42] DWTFTW which is an acronym for do whatever the fuck I want. So maybe it
[00:07:49] was an IW. I wrote it down wrong. I get to do whatever I want and I've been able
[00:07:55] to do that for a long time but I got back into that essence of going okay I
[00:08:00] can do whatever I want. The hard thing is there's a this freedom paradox I
[00:08:04] learned from one of my mentors and coaches Craig Ballantyne. It's this
[00:08:09] freedom paradox. You have so much freedom that it becomes like anxiety producing
[00:08:15] because you don't know what to choose but I've realized that I can do whatever
[00:08:19] I want so I have to like do fun stuff. I have to do the things that I want to
[00:08:25] actually go do them and I really get to do that and that's so cool. So I want you
[00:08:30] to list out and they don't have to be in any order what are the three top
[00:08:32] things the best things that happened to you this year like personal, business, etc.
[00:08:36] I mean I got some other business things but if I think about the three
[00:08:40] things is PT, BizCon, Hawaii and getting back to being able to say okay I can do
[00:08:45] whatever I want let me design my life in the way that I want it. The next piece
[00:08:52] is about growth. What are the biggest challenges you've grown through and
[00:08:57] what did you learn? So what are the biggest challenges you've grown through?
[00:09:03] It can be two or three maybe only one maybe there's five. What are the biggest
[00:09:06] challenges you've grown through in the last 12 months in 2023 and what is the
[00:09:11] lesson you extracted from them? Okay biggest challenge there's a couple for
[00:09:18] me I'm go back to PT, BizCon. I held a live event like that was a massive
[00:09:23] undertaking. I mean it really took me four years to get it but we were planning
[00:09:27] it probably eight months ahead of time and that didn't feel like it was enough
[00:09:31] and I can go through a whole list of you know what I could do next time you know
[00:09:36] from you know sponsors to you know the marketing to you know what do we charge
[00:09:43] you know to sales at the event to running the event to the offer all that
[00:09:48] stuff but the big lesson there's a couple big lessons is one people like to
[00:09:53] come together like bringing your audience together in person is really
[00:09:58] important it connects people I mean I had so many people tell me like thank
[00:10:03] you like this is the best you know physical therapy event they'd ever been
[00:10:06] to etc and it was great but I can also tell you that was so hard it's so
[00:10:11] stressful it took a lot of that event took a lot out of me that for months I
[00:10:16] was like don't talk to me about next year don't talk to me about next year it
[00:10:19] was just it was intense it was also an intense time of my life you know and if
[00:10:23] you've followed me and listened to if you've listened to the was it the second
[00:10:27] episode of the Aaron Labauer show a couple months ago I talk about going
[00:10:33] through the divorce and like that was coming up like right around like a year
[00:10:38] marker and it was just like it was emotionally draining and then that was
[00:10:41] a long top of that it was tough so what I learned like the biggest challenge
[00:10:47] was like relying on my team relying on myself and knowing that I mean I can do
[00:10:53] whatever I want to do I just have to want to do it and I can go through hard
[00:10:57] things and that was hard thing on top of a hard thing on top of a hard thing so
[00:11:01] other challenge that I've had this kind of pulls into that is living alone you
[00:11:08] know I was married for 18 years I think I lived with her for 20 of it no
[00:11:17] something like that you know 19 20 we didn't live together the whole time in
[00:11:20] San Francisco we physically couldn't live together for a few years because it
[00:11:24] wasn't just easy to get an apartment together etc but I think since 2003
[00:11:29] through like 2022 something like that 19 years and before that I had roommates
[00:11:36] for nine years in San Francisco before that I had roommates in college and a
[00:11:39] roommate in a year in Israel and I grew up in my own house so I had never lived
[00:11:43] alone so that one half the time I have my kids but half the time I'm living
[00:11:48] alone getting back into feeling comfortable doing that was was one of my
[00:11:54] biggest challenges this year and it hasn't been easy and some of you out
[00:12:00] there probably gone through that same thing or maybe some of you will
[00:12:04] hopefully like it's for the right reasons but I'll say like the lesson is being
[00:12:11] comfortable being uncomfortable because it's the discomfort is where you grow I
[00:12:17] mean I've grown a ton in the last year and a half you know and I think when if
[00:12:22] I think back to when I was in college seeing or me right after people going oh
[00:12:27] I'm gonna get this job doing X Y & Z I'm gonna get a I'm gonna get a cubicle job
[00:12:34] I'm gonna go do this I was like you know what I'm gonna be unhappy if I'm doing
[00:12:37] the same thing or I'm the same person in 10 years and you know what every 10
[00:12:42] years something different is changing for me was job career life etc you know
[00:12:50] it forced me to grow and do a lot of hard work you know and you know working
[00:12:57] with therapists has helped listen to podcasts reading books all those things
[00:13:00] have helped but the lesson is be okay being uncomfortable because sometimes
[00:13:05] it's the only way you're gonna grow and change and then number three the
[00:13:10] biggest challenge was getting back to my purpose so I've had a purpose in my life
[00:13:17] in my business for a while and and the thing that I really clung to was okay
[00:13:21] when my kids go to college when both of them are in college then you know myself
[00:13:27] and my wife we can move and live wherever we want and I wanted to create a
[00:13:30] business to support that now that's not really a reality and I look back and go
[00:13:36] I've been able to do that for a while the limiter was I wanted to be in
[00:13:39] Greensboro for my kids so it's helping it's the challenge is redefining my
[00:13:44] purpose and why do I get up every morning and get to work I had a patient
[00:13:50] come through the door in the clinic the other day and I just met her
[00:13:55] Caitlin introduced me to her she'd been in like five or six times and she was
[00:13:59] like dr. labauer thank you for creating this place you know and I was just like
[00:14:07] wow that's why I do this like that's why I struggle through you know
[00:14:11] challenges in the clinic and that's why I do this for for other people is because
[00:14:17] I want you to have a business and patients come through and thank you for
[00:14:21] that because I get my clients come and say thank you for doing this like I'd
[00:14:25] never met this client and really it's so I'm still in this process of defining
[00:14:30] what that purpose is but that's been the last you know six or seven weeks of
[00:14:34] going okay what's the purpose because without purpose you're not gonna have
[00:14:38] like you're not gonna get up and achieve your goals and some of my purpose is
[00:14:43] this like chip on my shoulder people told me I can't do it I've got the
[00:14:47] haters and they keep the chip on the shoulder but it's really like what's the
[00:14:50] what's the purpose what's my purpose and I'm still working on that but the lesson
[00:14:55] is you got to have a deep purpose because the people who've come through
[00:14:58] the clinic and coaching business you don't have a real why and purpose for
[00:15:03] getting better or bettering themselves and bettering their business they don't
[00:15:07] really make it to the other end or they flail around and they don't make choices
[00:15:10] because our decisions because they don't know why it matters and understanding
[00:15:15] why it matters is like that's a big lesson so what are the big challenges
[00:15:22] you've grown through and what did you learn and so I learned live events are
[00:15:27] hard and expensive but people love them living alone is like I gotta get
[00:15:33] comfortable living alone before I choose to live with someone else again I
[00:15:35] know that and you got to have your purpose and the purpose is becoming more
[00:15:40] about leaving like creating economic independence and generational wealth
[00:15:46] for my kids and making sure and I guess don't just have money to do whatever
[00:15:50] they want but they have the knowledge and leverage to create a life for
[00:15:56] themselves that I've created for me and for them incomplete this next the third
[00:16:01] question is what unfinished business do you have so think about what's something
[00:16:06] you started that's really meaningful to you that you just didn't finish that
[00:16:11] whether it didn't go your way whether you just didn't have time to complete
[00:16:15] it maybe it wasn't as urgent as some other things that came on your plate I
[00:16:18] mean I definitely had some things happen in the last year where you know I'll
[00:16:23] tell you in a second you know that it like you know I'm like what got that out
[00:16:29] of the way like that's incomplete I would say there's a couple things you
[00:16:34] know in business like incompletes I mean is there something incomplete like
[00:16:38] running PT bizcon live again is that incomplete a second time like I
[00:16:42] completed that like for three years that was in this column I think this year is
[00:16:46] like I want to have like 50 paying members in my mastermind like there's
[00:16:50] just an arbitrary number like the number that I have is great but I want
[00:16:54] this like 50 number okay cool 50 people who I can serve high quality many more
[00:17:01] than that you know like I think I can do that and I know I can I have my team has
[00:17:06] to look different but that's just been a goal that I've set for myself a few
[00:17:10] years ago and that I was on pace to hit and then I didn't hit and I'm like huh
[00:17:15] so that's a goal I've just got this goal and I could say there's a goal like that
[00:17:19] for the clinic of X number of people but that hasn't been my focus this year
[00:17:23] so the unfinished business there's that and then there's also you know running
[00:17:31] some other like it's not unfinished yet some other in-person event but there's a
[00:17:37] clinic one there's a clinic unfinished business okay and this just happened and
[00:17:42] I'm probably do an episode on what I'm doing and how I'm doing it but just a
[00:17:46] few weeks ago I got notice from Caitlin that she's moving on to work in a
[00:17:50] healthcare tech company and she's leaving our clinic in January and I had
[00:17:56] it set up where you know she was managing the clinic and getting a like a
[00:18:01] bonus the bigger she grows it you know and that kind of like I was like oh this
[00:18:07] is set but now it's not set and that's unfinished and I gotta you know I've
[00:18:13] got things in motion for next year to finish that out and make sure that the
[00:18:17] clinic grows without me I mean with me but without me in a sense like I spend
[00:18:22] most of my time doing the coaching stuff I want to spend my time doing podcasts
[00:18:25] creating content creating content even for the clinic without running the day
[00:18:30] to day so I've got Chris now has said yes he wants to fill that role and you
[00:18:38] know what awesome like but that's some unfinished business I got to get that I
[00:18:42] want to get that running because I can't tell you how many times I've thought in
[00:18:46] the last three years oh I could let that clinic go it's hard I've put in
[00:18:50] hard hours in 2020 helping people keep their jobs so there's the clinic there's
[00:18:55] a coaching business one and then like the personal one unfinished is getting
[00:19:02] comfortable and used to being who I am again which is funny because
[00:19:09] relationships change you and I let myself change a lot being in a
[00:19:13] relationship which is fine and I'm not in a relationship anymore and I got to
[00:19:19] get comfortable with that which is really hard right getting comfortable
[00:19:24] but it's not just getting comfortable with who I am it's finding out okay what
[00:19:28] are the things that I really like where things I don't like where things I've
[00:19:30] been doing that don't serve me where things I haven't been doing that do serve
[00:19:34] me and getting like comfortable being uncomfortable and getting comfortable
[00:19:41] doing things in that way or you know spending a holiday without my kids like
[00:19:47] it's hard but you know that's the unfinished business that I have I've got
[00:19:52] personal growth goals and that's not something that there's really like a
[00:19:55] number on but if I'm thinking about let me say I got my my coaching business I
[00:20:02] got my clinic and I got my person those three things those are unfinished and
[00:20:05] those are things that I'm working on and focused on next year in 2024 so write
[00:20:11] down yours like what have you started this year what goal did you set that you
[00:20:15] didn't quite reach you know I'm gonna say this about goals you're really
[00:20:19] supposed to set goals that you're not reaching because then you're not
[00:20:22] striving and working hard enough if you're hitting your goals too soon
[00:20:25] you're not setting big enough goals it's as simple as that and as soon as you
[00:20:30] start approaching a goal you know you're gonna hit it raise the bar make
[00:20:34] it bigger okay this is the last question this is about aspirations what
[00:20:41] are your top three aspirations next year what are your top three things that you
[00:20:45] want to achieve and accomplish and these are kind of goals but these are more
[00:20:52] like I think this is more than an aspiration is more than a goal what are
[00:20:57] three things that you want to do or what are what's something that you want people
[00:21:00] to say about you I was just hanging out with some friends and we were chatting
[00:21:05] they're talking about someone we know in town who owns a car dealership and
[00:21:10] they were like you know what everyone talks great things about Garson he's
[00:21:14] like I wish that when people were talking you know behind my back they had
[00:21:17] as good of things to say about me as they do him you know and it's true it's like
[00:21:21] can you be that person that people talk about in a positive light and yet I know
[00:21:26] Aaron Labauer like people are gonna do that and that's really what I want and
[00:21:29] if I'm doing it right not everyone's gonna like me not everyone's gonna like
[00:21:33] you not everyone's supposed to like you so what I what I put aspirations the
[00:21:39] number one thing that I shared and we shared this like in our small group
[00:21:42] today but like my aspiration which I don't think is realistic for next year
[00:21:46] based on the definition but it's to get there is to start getting there and this
[00:21:50] is this idea of economic independence I mentioned earlier economic independence
[00:21:55] is when your assets produce dividends that and that dividend amount is higher
[00:22:03] than your monthly expenses so can you let's say you have monthly expenses for
[00:22:08] yourself your business your family all combined is let's say $20,000 do you have
[00:22:14] assets investment retirement portfolios real estate you know other like
[00:22:24] affiliate fees I don't know things that those that money and it comes in is
[00:22:29] higher than your expenses and to me this is like not just my my business
[00:22:36] producing the revenue it's non business or non business businesses that don't
[00:22:42] have Aaron Labauer's name on them producing this revenue and you know so
[00:22:47] my aspiration next year is to get started to build let's say $5,000 because
[00:22:51] let's say I want $20,000 a month in dividends okay so by the end of next
[00:22:56] year I want to have something that produces $5,000 a month maybe even I
[00:23:00] should I should go higher and say hey let's do 10 maybe it's even only 20 but
[00:23:04] I just made this up this morning but if I'm coaching myself as they had to 5k is
[00:23:08] probably reasonable 10k is probably a good goal and it depends on how you're
[00:23:13] going to define these assets and investments I've got a couple affiliate
[00:23:17] relationships that could get me to 5k in the next 12 months and if I'm gonna
[00:23:22] define it as an affiliate relationship with someone else's business bringing me
[00:23:25] money I'm pretty sure I can do 5k so why not let me just do 10k and I'm gonna
[00:23:29] actually gonna write that down for myself you know but I also want to build
[00:23:34] 10k in dividends from investments where I invest not just knowledge and time
[00:23:40] but I invest money somewhere else like real estate I want to make a real estate
[00:23:44] deal I'm not gonna force it but I'd like to do something like that that brings me
[00:23:49] in you know 2 to 10k a month some kind of real estate or business deal like
[00:23:55] that'd be dope that's my aspiration number one number three or number three
[00:24:02] number three is third one I wrote down but it's really number two is like I
[00:24:05] want to get to 150 K months and more in my own business in my coaching business
[00:24:10] that'd be dope like I know I can do it I know what it looks like there's just a
[00:24:15] few levers I have to pull and a few things I have to change you know this
[00:24:20] year was a year of doing 100k months okay those are great and I mentioned
[00:24:25] that to someone at one of their boardroom events and he was like I was
[00:24:28] like yeah I'm kind of stuck there he's like yeah 100k months are hard you know
[00:24:32] so I just have one or two things I need to unlock a couple levers to pull which
[00:24:36] I started pulling them already but they're taking their time to you know
[00:24:41] show results I mean one is time of your time of life but that's it like if can I
[00:24:48] do that yeah then I want track to that two to three million a year okay and
[00:24:53] then get back to like I mean I put like you can I don't know what it is it's I
[00:25:00] put like you know leadership I think it's improved my lead get back to
[00:25:04] improving my leadership or improve my leadership in my family with my kids
[00:25:09] with my friends with my bit in my businesses and you know in physical
[00:25:16] therapy as an industry like no that doesn't mean I'm gonna go join the APTA
[00:25:19] and and you know run for office but it's like get back to leading I've done
[00:25:25] it before I think I'm still doing some of those things but it doesn't feel as
[00:25:29] present in my mind because other things have been distracting me for the last
[00:25:32] two years so just kind of get back to that and looking at the direction that I
[00:25:37] think we should be going and leading people there the leading people in my
[00:25:41] business like the direction is a profession in my businesses in my family
[00:25:44] and part of that is like getting back to the purpose so those are my aspirations
[00:25:50] for this year what I'd love to know is what are yours right so write yours
[00:25:55] down if you haven't you can pause this rewind do it again but I'd like to share
[00:26:01] like you to share it with someone you don't have to share it with me share it
[00:26:04] with your friend business partner spouse co-worker share it with me I mean
[00:26:09] sharing it is half half the exercise right so we did that today in our group
[00:26:15] we went around and we each shared and by sharing it you get to articulate it so
[00:26:20] by me sharing it on this podcast with you allows me to articulate these things
[00:26:23] and put them out into the world that I'm gonna do this is what I'm all about
[00:26:27] like you don't have to get up and do it on a podcast but maybe share it on a
[00:26:32] podcast or YouTube video or Facebook live or in a message with me or someone
[00:26:36] else or share it with yourself write it in a letter mail it to yourself you know
[00:26:41] in a year give it to someone I don't know do something like that something
[00:26:45] cool okay I'm gonna ask you one more question I didn't ask this to our group
[00:26:49] today but I'm gonna ask you this because I think this is important what old
[00:26:55] beliefs or fears have you had about losing clients in business over this
[00:27:02] period what are the beliefs that you need to drop what are the what are the
[00:27:09] beliefs that you need to let go of to change like what are these old beliefs
[00:27:14] and habits that need to change do you know what they are like me people won't
[00:27:20] pay people you know you know maybe it's a who am I to charge $200 an hour 250 an
[00:27:26] hour or $1,000 for a course or $10,000 for a consulting gig you know one of my
[00:27:31] clients today told me she she and one of her things was she was she's asked two
[00:27:37] different parties for quarter than $10,000 for a consulting gig she said one
[00:27:41] of them said yes that's dope you know but you're not going to get something if
[00:27:47] you don't ask for it and you have to drop these old beliefs and habits so
[00:27:50] what are the one or two old beliefs habits or fears that you need to drop in
[00:27:54] order to grow into something new if you want to learn a little bit more about
[00:27:58] some of this one of the books that helped me early on I'm gonna have to go
[00:28:03] look at it's a I did a baron baptiste yoga training and it was I think it's
[00:28:07] called journey into power I think that was the name of the the book and he's
[00:28:13] got some like not the same questions but these are different questions Baron
[00:28:17] Baptiste BAPTISTE you know a big part of the yoga teacher training is personal
[00:28:24] development self-awareness you've maybe heard lately like your business can only
[00:28:29] grow it was it like your business can only grow as far as you're willing to go
[00:28:33] yourself like your personal development will stunt your business and if you're
[00:28:38] not self aware of your beliefs your behaviors your patterns of how you're
[00:28:42] acting how you're communicating you can have a really hard time growing into who
[00:28:47] you want to be because maybe you're not even aware of who you are and you don't
[00:28:51] know who you are and where you are how are you ever gonna get somewhere else
[00:28:56] okay there's an other piece of setting goals where you're not gonna say I want
[00:29:01] to or even I will like those are future tense they're not committed it's in like
[00:29:07] let's say if we did a goal-setting I would say hey in 2024 by the end of
[00:29:10] December 2024 I am a blank you know I am a six-figure cash practice owner I am
[00:29:17] a million-dollar business coach I am a leader of my family who does you know
[00:29:23] goes on vacation you know eight weeks a year with my kids something like that
[00:29:28] you have to do it in present tense and so think about those things okay now the
[00:29:33] second part of this question is what new empowering beliefs or metaphors will
[00:29:36] allow you to not just retain your current clients your business but we'll
[00:29:40] have you more excited and committed to get to grow an even bigger business what
[00:29:45] are the new empowering beliefs or metaphors that you need to adopt to grow
[00:29:51] into this next phase of your life and of your business because the same person
[00:29:56] who got me to six figures isn't the person that got me to a million and that
[00:30:00] per that person that got me to a million and the team they got me there will not
[00:30:04] be the team that gets me to two million or ten million it will not be the same
[00:30:08] okay it already looks different from this time last year and from three years
[00:30:14] ago and from five years ago when I hired my first it was seven years ago when I
[00:30:18] hired my first employee it looks different and so what I want you to do
[00:30:23] is think about what are the new beliefs that you need to have that you need to
[00:30:29] adopt that you are the new things you need to actually believe about yourself
[00:30:32] and about the world and about money to allow you to hit your goals happy new
