Is what we palpate in soft tissues a real clinical entity? Or is it dysfunctional neurologics in response to the touch of skin on skin? Both the patient, myself, and others in the course could clearly feel something in the upper trap with our hands, but it barely there unless we used quite a bit more force when assessing the same area with an inanimate object.
