Manual Therapy for Headaches and TMJ Pain

A quick, pain free, and non invasive way to treat trigger points in the temporalis is to slack it. I demonstrate it in this quick video from a bonus TMJ module in a live MMT seminar. Find a TrP or tender point in the temporalis, then slack it by pulling superiorly on the cheek and pushing inferiorly on the scalp/temporalis. This should reduce tenderness by at least 80% to be effective. Hold it for 30-60 seconds and re-test tenderness and TMJ motion. This can open up other treatments like joint mobilizations or repeated loading if the TMJ was too sensitized to use them before. Are you a patient in need of my help?
