Manual Therapy for Constant and Severe Neck Pain

🔥Sustained Cervical Retraction and Sidebending Technique🔥
Constant and high level symptoms often require sustained end range loading holds for several minutes. I recently saw a patient with 9/10 constant neck pain, severely limited neck range and radiating Sx into her right hand. After trying WB loading and found it not tolerated, I tried NWB techniques. The only technique that gave her relief was a sustained hold of cervical retraction, traction and end range sidebending to the right (same side as complaints). This centralized her complaints, turned the 9 to a 3-4/10 and significantly improved her range. She was able to do sustained holds for the first day being off from work, and WB resets in the same direction for the next two days. Upon follow up in 3 days, she was only 1-2/10 and intermittent.
