Manual Therapy for Cervical Rotation and Headaches

This variation of a AA/C1-C2 mobilization uses gaze and isometric rotation to greatly improve the comfort and effectiveness of the traditional oscillatory technique. Blocking C1 with your thumb on the side you are rotating to, have the patient look to the same side with their eyes, then lightly turn into your mobilizing arm. Repeat this at each barrier - pain or tone. Stop at around 45 degrees rotation, if you get more, you're not stabilizing correctly! The patient can follow this up with repeated cervical retraction and rotation to the same side to continue treatment at home. Are you a patient in need of my help?
