Manual Resistance through the active range of any motion is not only a great assessment, but also a great treatment. Gradually increasing the amount of resistance from weak to stronger can often facilitate a motion that isometrically tests "weak." In that case, it is not weakness, but inhibition. Then gradually working through the limited or weak range through alternating resistance, the movement is grooved.
