🔥Lumbar Shift for Hip Mobility🔥
If a patient has limited and painful hip mobility, especially with WB exercises/movements like squats, AND they're limited in anterior tilt and sidebending to the same side of hip issues, try lumbar shifts for rapid improvement. Many extremity complaints can be improved quickly with spinal repeated loading (see MDT EXPOSS study). Hips especially, and feelings of impingement can be rapidly modulated with spinal repeated loading. Test/re-test the hip mobility and litmus test like a squat or whatever reproduced before and after. Then it's easy enough to show wall shift corrections for the Recovery Plan along with eventual hip strengthening and loading strategies. Hope this helps!
