🔥Lumbar Reset Clinical Pearls🔥
Sideglinding in standing works well for patients with radiating lumbar pain, hip/knee pain and many other lower quarter conditions. If they have an inability to load the involved side, it often works to reset LQ complaints
🔵first check anterior tilt and sidebending to both sides, if it's limited to the ipsilateral side of complaints, try SGIS to the same side (as in loading the involved side, not stretching it)
🔵to maximize end range, you may need to
🔵anterior tilt and SB
🔵stack shoulders over pelvis
🔵SB the head toward the same side instead of keeping eyes level
Yes this is technically "sidebending" not sidegliding as McKenzie originally taught it. I get better results this way and if the goal it to get to end range, SGIS against a wall using the elbow as a fulcrum just didn't cut it for many of my hypermobile patients.
