Typically MDT leaves you to overcorrect the shift and restore full extension/function. What other options do you have? Even though the patient was pain free in ADLs, loading the involved side still had end range pain. To make this pain free, I taught him to use isometrics to modulate the pain against the wall. Then during workouts, he was still shifting to the right (shifted side) during squats. Using slow, eccentric goblet squats with eyes closed is a great way to have the patient use proprioception to self correct WB deviations. Hope this helps! Are you a patient in need of my help?
