If there is a click that comes and goes, along with a springy end feel in knee extension, this technique may help reduce a meniscal flap that is deranging into the joint space.
If it works, use repeated knee extension with overpressure into end range to continuously reset and eventually work into loading in closed chain exercises like squats and lunges.
It's an old school technique I first learned in fellowship A LONG time ago, and more pathoanatomical than I normally promote on MMT, but still a good one and useful on occasion.
