Improve Ankle Dorsiflexion and Treat Knee Pain - Assessment and Manual Therapy

🔥An Essential Ankle Assessment - Lateral Tibial Glide🔥
In runners, avid fitness buffs, or just people with knee pain, you need to check if the ability of the tibia to glide laterally over the talus is limited. This can often seem like ankle or knee instability from glut weakness. However, this can limit ankle rocker/dorsiflexion in closed chain and cause the knee to drop into valgus, or the hip to drop laterally. This could contribute to sensitization of the knee, hip, ankle, or even lumbar spine. The test becomes the reset and perform this a few reps, then re-test their single limb and double limb squat for stability/pain. The patient can then perform their own lateral tibial glide reset hourly or as needed prior to a general loading/strengthening/stability program.
