😎 Cervical Mobilization for Trigger Points😎
Forget the minutiae of facet angles, palpating zygoapophyseal joints, and specificity of mobilizations! If you have to believe you're feeling something, it's probably not a great assessment, and not very reliable as a test. Here's one of my old school ways to treat trigger/tender points
🔵lightly palpate for tenderness (no need to needle or smash with an elbow or a trigger point ball)
🔵as in the video, lightly rotate the head/neck actively or passively into your fingertip
🔵after 30-60 seconds the tone/tenderness should improve with small and comfortable oscillations
🔵repeatedly end range load and slack the tissues after the tone/tenderness is improved - in this case, cervical retraction and SB toward the painful side
🔵load up the traps with some shrugs to top off the Recovery Plan for the patient
