🏋🏽‍♂️Scapula Stabilization with Trunk Rotation🏋🏽‍♂️
Taught my first live course in over a year this past weekend! One of my favorite exercises to lead up to overhead kettlebell/dumbbell carries is Scapula Stabilization with Trunk Rotation.
🔵 Stand in stride stance - rear leg is the same leg of the scapula/arm you're exercising
🔵arm in 90/90 shoulder abd/ER elbow flexion - resistance band anchor in front
🔵rotate head/neck eyes and trunk toward the rear leg
🔵PT may perturbate the bank for increased challenge
The starting position helps set the scapula and fire the scapula stabilizers while the trunk rotation helps mimic the pattern of throwing. This is a great lead up to overhead carries if the patient doesn't have enough trunk and overhead mobility.
